CPR Classes

The Greater Round Lake Fire Protection District is an AHA (American Heart Association) authorized provider of CPR. We offer 3 types of CPR classes that are open to the public. Below you will find information about each class offered.

Heartsaver CPR/AED

​This class is designed for any persons wanting to learn CPR and the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). The following is a list of topics and skills covered in this class.

  • Chain of Survival – Adult & Child/Infant
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) – Adult, Child, & Infant
  • Delivering Breaths – Barrier & Mask
  • AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use
  • Choking – Adult & Infant

Class time is approximately 2 hours

Cost for class: Resident $35 / Non-Resident $45

Heartsaver CPR/AED w/ First Aid

​This class is designed for any persons wanting to learn CPR, the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and basic First Aid. The following is a list of topics and skills covered in this class.

  • ​Chain of Survival – Adult & Child/Infant
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) – Adult, Child, & Infant
  • Delivering Breaths – Barrier & Mask
  • AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use
  • Choking – Adult & Infant
  • Key Steps to First Aid
  • PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Medical Emergencies
  • Injuries / Trauma
  • Tourniquet use
  • Epi Pen use
  • Inhaler use

Class time is approximately 4 hours

Cost for class: Resident $45 / Non-Resident $55

BLS CPR for Healthcare Providers

​This class is designed for Heathcare Providers Only to provide basic life support while providing care in both pre-hospital and in-facility. The following is a list of topics and skills covered in this class.

  • ​Chain of Survival – Adult & Child/Infant – Prehospital / In Facility
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) – Adult, Child, & Infant
  • 1 rescuer and 2 rescuer CPR
  • Team Dynamics
  • Delivering Breaths – Barrier, Mask, & BVM
  • Rescue Breathing
  • AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use
  • Choking – Adult & Infant

Class time is approximately 4 hours
